History HELP!! year 7!!!!?

The fear of burning in hellfire was rife in medieval times. Don't forget, few could read, the Bible was interpreted by priests who, quite often, had very little education and probably only had a limited understanding of the Latin in which it was written. There would also be fear of physical punishment by the lord who had accepted the oath of the person concerned. Also, travel would be very limited, most people never going more than 10 miles or so from their birthplace in their whole lives! The only travellers would be soldiers, traders, and priests.
