2 Corinthians 10: 3 -5 My questions are serious. If our war isn't with the flesh, why is carnal?

The first part of the verse says that we are flesh and that the flesh is not at war with itself. You want to have with someone out of wedlock, the flesh has no problem with it. But the Spirit of God does. The Spirit is our weapon against the carnal cravings of the flesh. God's Spirit brings us in line with the knowledge of God. That His ways ( the obedience of Christ) are not our (fleshly) ways. Christ spoke against adultery and even went so far as to say that if one has lust after another they have already committed adultery with that person.
